- About Me: I just moved back to California from Chicago where I went to medical school and completed my prelim medicine year at The University of Chicago. I thought one more year in Chicago would give me a chance to wear the new cool winter boots I bought the winter before that was too mild to ever need them. When I am not shopping for the perfect shoes, I like to go to movies/plays/concerts, read, watch bad TV with my two cats (Maggie and Madeline), or get together with friends for fine wine and food. I am a big fan of California's Central Coast wine region. In fact, I brought 7 cases of wine when I moved to Chicago, which I managed to drink up before I moved back (with the help of friends). I now have access to the remaining 7 cases stored at my parents house in CA, which I hope to share with new friends here. So, about my background¡ I grew up in Thousand Oaks, majored in math/philosophy at Claremont Mckenna College, got an MBA at U of Chicago, and then worked for many years as an economic analyst for a West Coast oil company. Along the way I travelled all over the world (including China, Cambodia, Thailand, Galapagos Islands, Camaroon, Kenya, Tanzania, and Cuba), became an instrument rated private pilot, and was a Special Olympics coach, referee, and area director. After deciding to make a big career switch to medicine, I went back to Claremont to attend a post-bac program at Scripps College and moved back to U of Chicago to attend medical school.
